Memories of a fantastic woman

Last Session

I didn’t know it was going to be your last session.  I had a feeling it might be.

We met three years ago when you walked into my room at the Massage Store.  We struck up a small conversation getting to know each other.  After a quick question and answer I knew I had a big job ahead of me taking care of an extremely busy lady.  It was my job to give you respite from your daily routine.  Allowing you to forget just for 90 minutes.  Giving you a moment to relax and reflect.  Our sessions were quiet.  I knew you needed to decompress.

Our massage relationship took us to 2 retail establishments and finally to my private studio.  I was so happy when you followed me from place to place.  I knew at times it was an inconvenient ride.  There was never a question in getting you into my schedule.  When you needed to come in I made the time.

Your retirement from the public sector gave you a new focus.  You regaled me in stories about your ever expanding family and the joy your children and grandchildren gave you.  That’s what retirement is for.

Your diagnosis cut deep into my heart.  You carried your illness with the same determination and dignity that was the cornerstone of your being.  Your faith and the faith of your family gave you the strength to rise above the destructive scourge that is cancer.

All throughout, it was my true privilege to help alleviate the discomfort. There is a humble and heartfelt awareness when you know that you are helping to ease the pain in your clients last few days.

You will always hold a place in my heart.  Your strong guided faith and love of family and humanity will be a true testament for your future generations.

Rest in Peace.
